According to a report from Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health, climate change is causing health effects, varying based on location. Some of these changes include: heat, erratic weather, dirtier air, more bugs, etc. Based off the diagram above, one can observe which areas are being affected by what. Some of the results from hotter weather is a lot more occurrences of heat related illnesses. Erratic weather includes droughts, wipe outs, and hurricanes that have become a lot more common. The dirtier air causes people to get sicker, more problems for people with asthma, and increase wildfire risks. Bugs such as the one that carry West Nile thrive in warm moist weather conditions which are what is occurring.
I think it is sad that people STILL neglect to realize that climate change is real especially when there is living proof. I hope we can reverse this problem before it becomes too late and out of our control.
