On the first day we observed the seeds, we noticed that the seeds had begun to open and we saw changes in the seeds.
On the second day that we observed, we saw that the seeds had opened to an even greater extent in the lower salinated petri dishes, while the others stayed remotely similar to the first day.
On the third day, we began to see seed growth and the formation of a small plant within the lower percentile of salinization solutions.
On the fourth day, we saw even more growth in the germinated seeds, while the seeds in higher salinization were not forming any type of stem.
-4% and 5% salinization could not sustain plant life because of the intensity of salinization.
-The less salinization, the more the plant was able to grow
- 2% had some growth but not as much as 1%
(From left to right: 1% salinization, 3% salinization, 4% salinization, 5% salinization)
- Purpose: The purpose of this lab was to experiment with different levels of water salinization and determine which one could best sustain plant life, probably and which one would not be able to germinate a seed. With the various soils of America becoming increasingly salt affluent over the years, it is important that individuals have knowledge of the effect this salinization will have on the plants we rely on for numerous aspects in life.

- Procedure:
- Obtain all materials.
- Calculate salinization solutions.
- Divide solutions (approximately 30mL) into petri dishes.
- Place paper towel pieces in each petri dish.
- Place seeds in each petri dish.
- Wait a couple of days for germination and observe. `
