Environmental Impacts: Any form of energy takes a toll on our environment. The one that impacts our environment the most is CO2 emissions which is a great contributor to global warming. We need to improve how we maintain our gaseous waste. I think that it is unfortunate that we rely so heavily on nuclear and fossil fuels and I think we need to reduce the environmental impacts over energy even though the price is costly.

Coal: Coal is cheap and dirty as well as easy to mine, easy to transport, and easy to store. It is seen as cheapest in the world especially in areas where people need the cheap alternative such as developing countries. Negative effects of coal is that it is dirty, dangerous, and releases chemicals into our atmosphere. Coal relies on coal for over half of its electricity. Based off this video, it seems that coal is seen as the most convenient method of obtaining electricity and that it will be hard to convince people to reduce the amount of coal we use which is unfortunate.

Nuclear Risks: Nuclear waste still contains heat and radioactivity which is a problem because it is hard to get rid of once used. Proliferation is also a risk because the fear that nuclear energy could be used to build bombs and weapons. An additional risk is it is easy to have an accident which could cause a cloud of radiation which can cause death and health problems. I think that after watching this video, we should improve on the technology for nuclear waste but I believe it is ultimately our best option for energy. I think in this case, the benefits outweigh the harms.
