Myth: CO2 was higher in the past.
This myth is backed up with the idea that CO2 levels were greater in the Ordovician era . Based of the IPCC theory there should have been a greenhouse induced global warming for the the CO2 levels to be high but instead there was glaciation. This is wrong because the Orodivician glaciation did not last long at all and was rather brief compared to all the other glaciations in the last 500 million years and proved to be consistent with climate science. Also, since it was so long ago, there are many uncertainties and although CO2 is known as being crucial to climate change there are other factors, not only CO2 which means the glaciation was not proven to be caused by CO2.
Myth: It's not us
The myth was that the warming was natural and man contributed to global warming very little and not enough to be concerned about. However, this myth was proven wrong due to the distinct human fingerprint that shows what the human greenhouse gas emissions have directly done. For example, an increased greenhouse effect makes night warm faster than days and this has been recently observed as well as it would shrink the ionsphere and the ionsphere is currently shrinking. Certain predictions of what would happen due to an increased greenhouse effect have happened and show that humans are truly causing the planet to warm.
