In Lake Titicaca, 10,000 critically endangered scrotum frogs are found dead lying belly up in the water. These frogs are known for their physical features of wrinkly, baggy skin. Lake Titicaca is the largest lake in South America and is known for its biodiversity until recently how bad the lake quality has been. Authorities say that pollution has been detrimental to the lake quality and the frogs. The pollution is likely coming from illegal mines that pass poisonous waste water into the lake. Within the last 15 years alone, their population has decreased over eighty percent.
It makes me mad that people choose to contaminate biodiverse areas such as Lake Titicaca, for their own economic gain. I do not understand how people are so narrow minded to think that illegal minds are okay and how they justify their actions. It's sad because the endangering of the Scrotum frogs was due to humans and if we continue to be selfish, more and more animals will become endangered
